E-E-A-T: a new criterion for content experience

Crawlers are constantly working to keep up with the Web and other content. They learn to recognize how often previously indexed content changes and reindex it if necessary. They also discover new pages or information as new links are posted.

In addition, Google provides Search Console, a free tool that creators can use to help improve the crawlability of their content. They can also apply established standards such as sitemaps or robots.txt to indicate how often content should be indexed or if it should not be included in our search index.

It is not possible to pay Google to speed up the frequency of exploration of a site. The tools are the same for all owners to ensure the best possible results.

To give you the most useful information, search algorithms take into account many factors, such as the words used in your query, the relevance and usability of the pages, the level of expertise of the sources, your position and your parameters. The weighting applied to each factor varies depending on the nature of your query.

Google has announced a major change to better evaluate its search results and improve its ranking system: "E-A-T gains an E: experience. In addition to expertise, authority and trustworthiness, does the content demonstrate some degree of experience? " .

The search engine clarifies what it means by "degree of experience" of the content by delivering some examples: content about the actual use of a product, report of a visit to a place, sharing of experience of a person ... Google ends up concluding: "In some situations, what you appreciate most is content produced by someone who has direct experience of the topic in question."

This new E-E-A-T concept is part of Google's latest "search rater guidelines" update, which emphasizes "the importance of content created to be original and useful to people."

E-E-A-T: how does it work?

Google's new E-E-A-T acronym means :

E: Experience

E: Expertise

A: Authority

T: Trust

As a reminder, here is how Google works:

Google's systems take into account different factors to rank quality content, after detecting relevant content, Google's automated systems will prioritize those that seem most useful. To finalize its evaluation of content, Google will then define a set of factors to determine the level of experience, expertise, legitimacy and reliability (E-E-A-T score) of the various contents.

Google will give more importance to content with a high E-E-A-T score, especially "when the subject matter may have a significant impact on the health, financial stability or safety of individuals, or even on the well-being of society as a whole."

What does "Experience" mean ?

You content should be original ! For example, when you are selling products you create a unique product description- Avoid coping and pasting similar contents for similar products.
